In Japan during the 1920s and 1930s, ships were considered a symbol of national power. Notably, the design of the cabins of luxurious liners connecting Japan and overseas involved prominent domestic architects such as Junpei Nakamura and Togo Murano. Seigo Hono also designed the interior decorations of several passenger ships operating within the country. This exhibition introduces materials related to ships, involving Togo Murano and Seigo Hono, from the architectural materials stored at the Kyoto Institute of Technology Museum of Art and Craft.
