Iwaya-ji Grand Festival & Iwaya-ji Marche (June)

Traditional events held at a historical temple in Chita
The grand festival of Iwaya-ji, the headquarters of the Owari Koyasan Sect, is held on the 17th of every month. A Goma fire ritual will start at 9 AM at the Okunoin. The main ceremony and sermon will be held around 11 AM in the main hall. There will be a limited edition Goshuin (temple stamp) available for participants in the flag procession from the Okunoin to the main hall. On the day of the event, there will be stalls selling vegetables and knives at the entrance, as well as a marche in the temple grounds, offering food sales and shopping for families to enjoy.
