Cherry blossoms in Tsugu planted by local residents color the spring
The cherry blossom avenue was created through tree planting by local residents, initiated around 1996. Approximately 300 trees, including Higan cherry and Weeping cherry, are planted along the embankment of about 5 km downstream of the Tsukugawa (Ooinigawa) near the Tsugu Branch of the Shitara Town Hall. Higan cherry usually blooms slightly earlier than Weeping cherry, allowing for a longer enjoyment period.
