Lecture "Considering the Confusion Caused by Loving What We Love in Society"

Lecture "Considering the Confusion Caused by Loving What We Love in Society"

A lecture that considers social issues from the perspective of 'oshi-katsu'

Soga Community Center Harmony Plaza Annex 3rd Floor Harmony Hall

6/28(Sat) 10:30~12:00

We will welcome Professor Toko Tanaka from the University of Tokyo, who researches idols and 'oshi-katsu', for a lecture themed around the increasingly familiar presence of 'oshi-katsu'. While it adds color to our daily lives, 'oshi-katsu' can also become a target of excessive consumption and reflect fixed notions of gender, representing both 'light and darkness'. Let’s think about how we should engage with 'oshi-katsu'.
