57th Hachiro Festival

An impressive festival with a powerful dragon figure marching through the streets!
The Hachiro Kamo Festival was born in 1967 from the nostalgia and reverence of the people living by the lakeshore, as the area underwent significant transformation due to reclamation projects. The festival's symbol, the 64-meter long Taro Dragon and the Tatsuko Dragon, are carried by about 80 porters as they parade through the city. The powerful and grand dragon parade revives and preserves the 'Hachiro Taro Legend' for today.
