52nd Wamizu Town Kofun Festival
One of the three major fire festivals of Kumamoto summer
Reconfirming the "history and culture of Wamizu Town" that has been accumulated over a long period of time and honoring our predecessors, this is a fire festival that brings light to the future. The highlight of the festival is the "Feast of Flames," where ceremonies unfold, including the appearance of Himiko, the lighting ceremony of a giant bonfire, and a torch procession dressed in ancient costumes. It is magnificent and fantastical, inviting viewers into a world of dreams. Additionally, the finale features a display of ceremonial fireworks! Experience the romance and history of ancient times.
