"The cherry trees in Iwakura City were planted around 1949, and approximately 1,300 cherry trees bloom along the Gojogawa River, which flows approximately 7.6 km through Iwakura City. The main species of cherry blossom is Somei Yoshino. It has also been selected as one of Japan's '100 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots', and during the peak blooming season, it is bustling with many hanami visitors. Demonstrations of 'Nonbori washing' and night cherry blossom illumination are planned."
