Todaiji Betsuin Amida Temple is an ancient temple built in the 3rd year of Bunji (1187) by the great priest Shunkyo-bo Jigen, who went west to Suo Province for the reconstruction of Todaiji, praying for the peace of Emperor Go-Shirakawa. It houses many precious Buddhist statues and ancient documents, including the national treasure, the Iron Pagoda.
