The year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-Korea relations. The Kyushu National Museum, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will commemorate this by introducing around 20 cultural properties that tell the story of Korean history from Baekje, Silla, Goryeo, Joseon, and up to modern times, collected over the past 20 years. A masterpiece of landscape painting from the early Joseon period, "Autumn Landscape by Guo Xu," Goryeo period's "Celadon Lotus-Patterned Bowl with Inlaid Design," and wedding furnishings passed down by Princess Deokhui Ongju, the 26th king of the Joseon Dynasty, will be publicly displayed for the first time at this museum.
