The "Hometown Miyamatsuri," with a history of about 50 years, is one of Tochigi Prefecture's largest summer festivals. Held on the first weekend of August each year, it is themed "encounters and interactions." The sight of over 50 mikoshi parading through the venue is truly breathtaking. The sounds of festival music fill the streets, enhancing the festive mood. There are plenty of highlights, such as the ladder performances by the Kiyari Preservation Society, which follows the Edo fire-fighting tradition, dynamic taiko drumming competitions, and the Miyako Yosakoi dance!
