Tanigawadake Mountain Opening

The opening of Tanigawadake, which spans Minakami Town and Niigata Prefecture. Take the Tanigawadake Mountain Opening Train early in the morning to Doai Station. At the Tanigawadake Information Center parking lot in Yubiso, the shrine ceremony begins at 4 AM to pray for a safe summer mountain season, and includes purification of climbing gear. After the ceremony, local mountain clubs will hold a Tanigawadake climb, where participants will pass through a sacred circle and head towards the summit. There will also be an alphorn performance at Ichinokurasawa. This event kicks off the season.
