Itsukushima Benzaiten Grand Festival
A rare opportunity to directly see the secret Buddha of Itsukushima Benzaiten
Itsukushima Benzaiten, one of Japan's three Benzaiten along with Enoshima and Takeo Island. Usually, a gold brocade fabric covers the altar, and it is not possible to directly view the figure of Itsukushima Benzaiten, but there is one special day each year when it is possible to directly see the secret Buddha of Daigan-ji, Itsukushima Benzaiten, which is June 17.
Daigan-ji
Take a ferry from Miyajimaguchi Pier to Miyajima Pier (about 10 minutes). From Miyajima Pier, walk.
