71st Kushiro City Citizen's Hokkaido Bon Odori
A traditional summer event that greatly livens up Kushiro!
At the venue on Kitaodori, a huge "yagura" is erected, and lanterns made by local children and members of painting circles are installed on the roadway, brightly coloring the venue and creating a lively atmosphere for the Bon Odori. The area in front of Kushiro Station on Kitaodori is filled with people dancing and watching! People everywhere! The Bon Odori features a variety of dances, including hand dances, costumes, and freestyle competitions all in the same venue, uniting dancers and spectators, creating peak excitement!
