This is a newly discovered letter from Ikki Ohno (1909–90), a reporter for the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun at the time, who was born in present-day Fukuoka Town in Takaoka City. It conveys details about the February 26 Incident shortly after it occurred in Showa 11 (1936) to his father. Although subject to censorship by the military police, the letter accurately describes the situation over the four days (February 26–29) that he personally witnessed, spanning 8 sheets of letter paper (about 1,500 characters), and holds a high historical value.
