54th Ueda Wasshoi

Dance! Carry! Strike! The theme of Ueda's summer festival "Ueda Wasshoi" will be held again this year in the city center of Ueda. Groups composed of local residents, schools, businesses, and circle activities create a single "ren" (group), performing a festival where they joyfully sing and dance along with the shouts of "wasshoi!" echoing in the midsummer night sky. In addition to traditional dances, it is also possible to perform original dances unique to each group. Participation is also possible in forms such as carrying portable shrines and playing drums.
