The fishing method using the sailboats, a symbol of Kasumigaura, was devised by Ryohei Orimoto, who was born in Kasumigaura City (formerly Saga Village), in the 13th year of the Meiji era. It is extremely important as a cultural heritage for understanding the history of fishing in Kasumigaura, and was revived as a tourist sailboat for the first time in Showa 46 (1971) in Kasumigaura. This sailboat has been selected as one of Japan's 100 landscape heritage sites to be preserved for the 21st century and has received awards for contributions to regional revitalization. Let's enjoy the magnificent sight of the pure white sail raised on the lake. *Boarding is by complete reservation only. ■ Notes Internet reservations open on the 1st of every month at 8:30 AM.
