Iimori Shrine Mitama Festival

A festival to offer prayers of gratitude to our local ancestors
The 'Mitama Festival' held at Iimori Shrine every year on August 13th (during the Obon period from August 11th to 15th) is a ritual to express gratitude to the spirits of ancestors and predecessors returning during Obon by illuminating the shrine grounds with lights. The shrine is brightly lit up with many lanterns during the period. Additionally, there are lively events in the shrine grounds, such as festival stalls, making it a local tradition in the Aiu area.
