This year's theme is "Songs of the Eastern Countries - The World of Soldier Songs". We will focus on the songs of soldiers conscripted from the Eastern countries to defend the northern Kyushu region, deepening our understanding of the world of songs expressing the sorrow of parting from family and longing for home. In the spring session, we will read, in order, soldier songs from six provinces, from Tōtōmi (western Shizuoka Prefecture) to Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture), from the soldier songs compiled in the 7th year of Tenpyo Shōhō (755) found in Volume 20. The application and payment period is from Tuesday, April 1 to Saturday, May 10. ■ Notes Public lecture (Spring 2025)
