Starting with the completion celebration of Suitengu in 1650 (the 3rd year of the Keian era), the Chikugo River Fireworks Festival has a history of over 360 years. It boasts one of the largest scales in Western Japan, with colorful displays and large fireworks that vividly light up the sky above the surface of the Chikugo River, attracting many spectators as a major summer pageant in the Chikugo region. This year, 15,000 fireworks are scheduled to be launched. A live broadcast on YouTube is planned for the day!
