[Flower・Blooming Season] Higashiyama Rhododendron

[Flower・Blooming Season] Higashiyama Rhododendron

A rhododendron garden spreading across the mountainside

Higashiyama Rhododendron Garden

Late Apr~Early May

At the Higashiyama Rhododendron Garden, 1,300 rhododendrons of 50 varieties are planted along a 1-hour stretch of the mountainside. Since 2010, members of the "Higashiyama Rhododendron Blooming Association" have been planting 300 new plants each year. Although managing the garden, including flower picking, is challenging, they continue to care for the plants with the hope of seeing them blossom beautifully. Enjoy the sight of red, white, and pink rhododendrons blooming majestically across the slope.
