A free concert featuring various styles of shakuhachi music
The Minato Ward Traditional Japanese Music Research Society includes players from various shakuhachi schools such as Fukuyamuran, Kinkō-ryū, and Tōzan-ryū, as well as performers belonging to different factions within these schools. The repertoire varies greatly, from classical pieces from the komusō tradition to modern Japanese music. Feel free to visit and experience the deep world of shakuhachi music. The performance pieces include "Oshū den: Tsurunosukago", "Mitani Sugasaki", "Yamakoshi", "Suzurube no Suisou", "Shinkyo Suisou", "Takiotoshi", "Ichinichisō: Hachigaeshi", "Kokū", "Ajikyakusou", "Hikyoku: Tsurunosukago", "Shinseki", "Shingetsu-sō", "San'an", "Nachitaki Suisou", "Shin'ongai Suisou", "Echigo Suisou", and "Kiriyuri" among others. ■Notes No prior reservation required, all seats free. *The 'zi' in 'Kiriyuri' is from the kanji for 'take' with 'tiger' on top.
