An exhibition of Kato Shika (1938 - ), a member of the 5th Division of the Japan Art Association's 'Calligraphy' section, who has been a leading figure in the Japanese calligraphy world. Shika was born in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, and learned various styles such as Kaisho, Gyosho, Sosho, and Kana from his father, calligrapher Kato Kojo, and further honed his skills under Kimura Chisek and Hota Takanaka. He made his first selection for the Japan Exhibition in 1956 and has since received several selections and special selections, later taking on the important role of judge. This exhibition introduces the beauty of Kato Shika's calligraphy, which is characterized by the beauty of lines. Concurrently held: 19th Paramita Ceramic Art Grand Prize Exhibition
