[Cherry Blossoms - Best Viewing] Takahasan

A breathtaking spring view from the national park

Takahasan

Late Mar~Early Apr

Takahasan, designated as a special area of the Setonaikai National Park, is located on the Oshima Peninsula at the southern tip of Shunan City. With an elevation of 362m and being an independent peak that juts out into the sea, it offers a 360-degree view of breathtaking scenery. From the summit, you can see the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, the Kunisaki Peninsula in Oita Prefecture, and on clear days, the distant Sadamisaki Peninsula in Ehime Prefecture. At the top, there is an observation deck and a monument to poet Tekkai Yosano, with a drive and hiking trail equipped for many climbers to enjoy. Be sure to visit the observation deck where the cherry blossoms bloom!
