Satsuma Kuroshio Kibaran Sea Makurazaki Port Festival

The largest summer festival in Minamisatsuma!
The 'Satsuma Kuroshio Kibaran Sea Makurazaki Port Festival' is held every August to pray for a good catch and abundant harvests. It started in August of 1951 to commemorate safe navigation, good catches, abundant harvests, commercial prosperity, and the promotion of local industries. This is the largest summer festival in Minamisatsuma featuring unique events and performances, a dynamic dance parade, and a large fishing float. The grand finale, a fireworks festival with 10,000 fireworks, showcases the largest three-shaku-dama fireworks in Kyushu, illuminating the night sky and stirring the hearts of the people. ■Remarks Festival Executive Committee Office (Phone: 0993-72-1072)
