Fukuoka Prefectural War Materials Exhibition 'Former Imperial Army Daitōarai Airfield War Panel Exhibition'

Fukuoka Prefectural War Materials Exhibition
Once, this land was home to a grand military city centered around the Daitōarai Airfield, which the former Imperial Army proudly claimed was the best in the East, developing while playing a historical role. However, in March of Showa 20, it suffered devastating damage due to a massive air raid by the U.S. military, and many precious lives, including those of civilians, were lost. It was also the place where numerous kamikaze pilots were sent off as a relay base for their missions. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the post-war period, and through this panel exhibition, let’s take a moment to reflect on war and peace.
