Schumann's masterpiece and a new challenge for the viola
The concert opens with Walton's 'The Wise Maidens' based on Bach's music, featuring a glamorous and rhythmic dance. Following that, Schumann's Cello Concerto is arranged by Yoshiko Kawamoto for viola. The unique depth of sound of the viola creates new expressions.
