Kanonji Hydrangea Festival

10,000 hydrangeas of 100 varieties are in bloom
It is said that Kanonji, founded in 720, is filled with around 10,000 hydrangeas of about 100 varieties. It is also known as the "first sacred site of flower temples in Kansai" and is famous as the "(Tamba) hydrangea temple." From June to July each year, hydrangeas bloom vibrantly along the path and in the small trails of the Seven Kannon. The small country chickens playing in the hydrangea garden are also popular. Events such as performances are planned aside from the ceremonies.
