Shinmachi Jizō Dance

A traditional event that has been danced every year for 400 years
The Shinmachi Jizō Dance, performed every year in front of the Jizōdō in the central Shinmachi area, is a type of Nenbutsu dance that has been designated as an intangible cultural asset of Kagamino Town. It is said to have started around the 16th century during the Tenshō era, about 400 years ago.
