Tenshin Kō

A summer festival with a 1400-year tradition
The summer festival of Sugaō Ishibe Shrine, the second shrine of Kaga. This ancient ceremony has been held for about 1400 years, and during the Edo period, it was said that the entire population, including the feudal lord, joined the festival as a clan festival of the Daishōji Domain. For three days, the dances of butterflies performed by the shrine's children are offered at the dance hall, and the child dance in Kaga region is unique to Sugaō Ishibe Shrine, making it rare.
