Famous as one of Japan's three major float festivals along with the Gion Matsuri in Kyoto and the Takayama Matsuri in Gifu. The hikiyama is referred to as a 'moving art museum,' captivating visitors with the architectural beauty of each float, as well as the elegance of the decorations and curtains. The highlight is the 'Kodomo Kabuki,' which has continued since the Edo period, featuring young male actors in splendid costumes performing passionately on the float, reminiscent of a historical picture scroll.
