47th Yokappe Festival
A citizen festival where everyone from children to adults is the main character!
This is a citizen festival in Sosa that has continued since 1979. The Honcho-dori shopping district becomes a pedestrian paradise, and there will be a parade of handmade tarumiko and traditional music performed by children from various elementary schools in the city. Additionally, various organizations will showcase their proud products at the venue, and a variety of events including dances and shows will be lined up. ‘Yokappe’ is a local dialect meaning ‘Isn’t it good?’ or ‘Isn’t it great?’. Why not come and see, eat, have fun, and spend a leisurely day?
