Tokyo will hold the "Sustainable Fashion Design Award 2026" fashion competition to discover next-generation designers, featuring works utilizing kimono fabrics and similar materials to showcase to the world. A triumphant exhibition of the award-winning works will be held in Niigata, the hometown of the awardees. The work "Hanatemari / A design that makes chirimeni patterns not used in clothing accessible for young people, allowing those with disabilities to wear and remove it easily" by Moena Yamada (from Mitsuke, at the International Fashion Specialist School) will be exhibited.
