The Hamamatsu Festival is one of the most famous festivals in Japan, attracting about 1.5 million visitors each year. It is said to have been held for over 400 years and consists of two main attractions: the majestic kite flying battles and the splendid parade of festival floats, providing entertainment all day long. Various events are held in the city center during the festival period.
