Yoshida River Festival

The Yoshida River is adorned with lanterns and fireworks
The festival began in 1967 when the Yoshida River was renovated and a park was created. The central event of the festival is the lantern (とうろう) floating, where lanterns are set adrift on the river to show gratitude to the clear stream and to honor ancestors. The sight of lanterns floating on the river with the gentle glow of candlelight colors the summer night and soothes the hearts of those who see it. Additionally, food stalls line the area, bustling with many families.
