Kaminokataki Shrine Grand Festival

The only spring festival in the Hidaka region
Kaminokataki Shrine, with a history of over a thousand years, is surrounded by dense cedar groves. During the festival, rituals such as the scattering of salt to purify the mountain paths, as well as the performance of children's Yatsuhachih no Mai, are dedicated. It is the only spring festival in the Hidaka region and is also referred to as 'Hanamatsuri'. It has long been said to be 'a festival not found south of Kyoto', and is conveyed to this day as a solemn and elegant festival.
