Thematic Exhibition "Tsuba Variations - The Essence of Technique and Design -"

Introducing tsuba that transcends practicality with diverse designs
Tsuba is a type of sword fitting that protects the hand holding the sword. Since the Muromachi period, various designs of tsuba have been created with intricate metalworking techniques beyond practicality, such as gold inlay and openwork carving. This exhibition features tsuba from the collection of the Hikone Castle Museum, primarily those passed down from the Ii family.
