Fujisan Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra 131st Regular Concert (Hamamatsu Performance)

Schumann's Masterpiece and a New Challenge for the Viola
The concert opens with Walton's 'The Wise Maidens,' a vibrant and rhythmic dance based on Bach's music. Following this, Schumann's Cello Concerto is arranged by Yoshiko Kawamoto for viola. The deep resonances unique to the viola create a new expression. The Symphony No. 2 is a masterpiece where Schumann overcomes adversity and finds hope. The dramatic structure and uplifting music stir the heart. Conducted by Keitaro Harada, this concert breathes the soul of Schumann. ■Notes Tickets are available at Act City Hamamatsu, Fujisan Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra, Ticket Pia, and others.
