Fukami Gion Festival

Fireworks explode over the raft on the lake
The Fukami Gion Festival, held at a lake that appears on the gentle slopes of a mountain village, features a purification ritual performed on a 6-meter-long raft, with fireworks lighting up the lake in a truly beautiful festival. The only natural lake in the Ina Valley, Fukami Pond, becomes the stage for water-based star mines and fireworks, which explode with a loud sound. First-time viewers are sure to be astonished by the overwhelming proximity of the fireworks! It is designated as a Prefectural Selected Intangible Folk Cultural Asset.
