Surveying Ship Tour for High School and University Students "Learn About Marine Disaster Prevention with the Japan Coast Guard's Surveying Ship"

Let's tour the surveying ship "Shoyo" with explanations!
Employees of the Japan Coast Guard and curators of the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History will explain marine surveys, nautical charts, and marine disaster prevention. The surveying ship "Shoyo" that visitors will tour contributes to the preservation of the marine environment and disaster prevention through seabed topography surveys using a multi-beam sonar. After the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6, it was dispatched to the disaster area and revealed that the seabed had risen approximately 3 meters. Applications can be made from the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History's website. Application deadline: May 14 (Wednesday). Targeted at high school and university students in their 10s to 20s.
