Reiwa 7th Year Tawara Festival

A beautiful sight of ornate floats and karakuri puppets
The "Tawara Festival," a traditional festival that has continued since the Edo period, is widely known for its floats featuring "karakuri puppets." The luxurious floats, carrying the "karakuri puppets" from Kayamachi, Shinmachi, and Hommachi, are designated as important tangible folk cultural properties of the city. At night, children perform dances on the floats, and hand-held and large fireworks are also displayed.
