In 2019, the 'Shin-Kōtoku Station' was renovated with a concept of 'Showa Retro' in line with the SL Taiju's railway. Over 10 varieties of colorful hydrangeas are planted along approximately 100 meters of railroad track. The Showa Retro-style station building and hydrangeas create a picturesque landscape, earning it the nickname 'Hydrangea Station.' It has also become a popular part of the rainy season as you can enjoy it while riding the SL Taiju. The best time to visit in 2025 will be mid-June.
