Mother River Firefly Festival
The fantastic light of Genji fireflies can be enjoyed from the Takase boat.

The 'Mother River Firefly Festival' began as a volunteer activity by local residents aimed at preserving Genji fireflies in the Mother River and promoting it to people inside and outside the town. During the festival, visitors can enjoy the fantastic light of Genji fireflies from the Takase boat. Please note that it may be canceled due to rainy weather and river water levels.

Get off at Aso Kaigan Railway Kaifu Station, 15 minutes on foot
