Shibata Cherry Blossom Festival

Let's enjoy 'Shibata's Four Great Cherry Blossoms'
(Public Corporation) Japan Cherry Blossom Association has designated Funabashi Castle Ruins Park as the only '100 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots' in Miyagi Prefecture, alongside the cherry blossoms along the Shiroishi River. The 'Shibata Cherry Blossom Festival' allows you to enjoy 'Shibata's Four Great Cherry Blossoms', including Taiyo Village in Shibata Town and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Funabashi Base. At Funabashi Castle Ruins Park, over 1,300 Somei Yoshino cherry trees turn the entire mountain pink during peak bloom. From the summit, you can also see the Zao mountain range, the Pacific Ocean, and the cherry blossom trees along the Shiroishi River.
