53rd Chihaya Summer Festival
A summer tradition of the Chihaya region
The Chihaya Summer Festival, which started in 1973, marks its 53rd year this year. The shopping street is adorned with Tanabata decorations, and traditional stalls line the streets. Amidst the beautifully decorated Tanabata ornaments, dancers perform the Chihaya dance as they stroll through the shopping area, showcasing a spectacular parade of ornate floats.
