Sakura Viewing: Awagatake

The view from the summit at an elevation of 532m is the best!
At an elevation of 532m, the view from the summit of the 'Awagatake' on a clear day is breathtaking. You can see expansive tea fields below, as well as the Oi River, the Southern Alps, and Mount Fuji. It is also famous as a cherry blossom spot, with Somei Yoshino, local cherry trees, and mountain cherry trees in bloom. The Awabaa Shrine located at the summit hosts the cherry blossom festival every year. The entrance to the Awagatake hiking trail to the summit takes about 60 minutes on foot one way, and it's recommended to stroll and enjoy the spring as you visit!
