While presenting a landscape-like depth, the appearance of light and darkness seems to dissolve, with dark brown tones and strong brushstrokes depicting an abstract painting space. By repeating the process of layering paints and sometimes scraping them off, the artist finds joy in crystallizing daily sensations and beliefs on the canvas. "I think there is a mystical power at work in the awe and longing felt when observing nature, a sensation that overwhelms yet heals the heart," says Tawara, introducing her new works.
