Usa Jingu Chushu Festival (Release Festival)
The oldest ritual ceremonies of Usa Jingu
On the first day, the portable shrine is paraded to the floating hall built at Wama Beach. On the second day, we go to Wama Beach, where purification prayers and auspicious words are recited by the priests, and the "Release Ceremony" is conducted. The beginning of the Release Festival came from scattering sea snails at Wama Beach to comfort the spirits of the subdued Hayato. After this, the Release Festival spreads nationwide, in accordance with the great will of the Yawata deity, who cares for and cherishes all living things. The Release Ceremony will be held around 10:30 AM on October 12 (Wama Shrine).
