The contrast of green grass and pink cherry blossoms is beautiful
Korakuen features approximately 280 cherry trees planted throughout the park and its outer gardens, primarily consisting of Somei Yoshino. The cherry blossom grove is made up of about 50 Somei Yoshino trees, and there is a standard tree for cherry blossom blooming in Okayama, in addition to enjoying a cherry blossom tunnel (from the South Gate to the horse track). The Yaebeni Shidare located at the base of the Eisho Bridge over the pond in the park blooms slightly later than the Somei Yoshino. It is also popular as a photo spot.
