In the late Edo period, Nagasaki Nakazou, who was a chef for the Matsue domain, began making rattan crafts. The technique of "Matsue Domain Rattan Craft" held by the sixth Nagasaki Makoto was designated as a Shimane Prefecture Traditional Craft on March 31, 2004. Furthermore, his disciple, the eighth Nagasaki Kawaguchi Junpei, was certified as a Tottori Prefecture Traditional Craftsman in the 5th year of Reiwa for "Matsue Domain Rattan Craft", passing down the technique to the present day. This exhibition showcases works from the first Nagasaki Nakazou to the current active Nagasaki Makoto and those who inherit his techniques.
