Special Exhibition 'Akebonozan Singing to the Moon'

As the words 'Setsugekka' (snow, moon, flowers) and 'Kachofugetsu' (flowers, birds, wind, moon) suggest, the 'moon' has been a beloved subject in the beauty of the seasonal landscapes and nature since ancient times. In the world of literature, many poems have been composed with reverence for its form. The poet Tachibana Akebono from the late Edo period in Fukui also left many works related to the moon. There are intriguing pieces that depict the serene scenes of moonlit nights and align the poet's way of life with the image of the moon. This exhibition will introduce famous moon-related poems along with relevant materials.

Viewing fee: 100 yen. Free for middle school students and younger, seniors over 70, and persons with disabilities and their companions.

parking

During busy times, use the Asuwa Mountain parking lot below Asuwa Shrine. About a 3-minute walk from the parking lot.

Access

About 15 minutes from Fukui IC on the Hokuriku Expressway.

Access (Public)

Take the smile bus from Fukui Station (for Terute and Asuwa), get off at the bus stop 'Atagosaka', and walk for about 1 minute.
